EDAR methodology

How Trust, Experience, and Readiness are scored for Discord alternatives on this site.

The three pillars (each /9)

  1. Trust — license (open vs closed), decentralization/federation posture, reputation and privacy incidents.
  2. Experience — UI /3 + UX /3 + feature completeness vs Discord /3.
  3. Readiness — popularity, client/platform coverage, longevity and delivery evidence.

Overall EDAR is the average of the three pillars. The quiz remaps those signals into personalized weights (reputation, look & design, ease of use, features, popularity).

What EDAR is not

It is not a lab benchmark, not multi-reviewer consensus, and not financial advice. First-session UX judgments are intentional. Re-reviews should update scores when products change.

Conflict of interest

The sole reviewer owns Echo. That is disclosed on every page. Echo’s readiness score is low on purpose — the rubric is not a marketing brochure.
